The RVC “Survivor Stories” space is for individuals to share personal experiences related to Adult Clergy Sexual Abuse. Contributors come from diverse denominational and spiritual backgrounds, and each story reflects a unique perspective. The views expressed are those of the individual author and do not necessarily represent the views of RVC administrators or any religious organization.

Please read and engage with care:

  • Content may be triggering. Posts may contain references to sexual misconduct, spiritual coercion, abuse of power, and institutional betrayal. Reader discretion is advised.

  • Stories are personal and sacred. Each contributor is offering their lived experience—often with vulnerability and risk. Please honor their courage and voice.

  • Identifying details may be changed. Names, locations, or other identifying information may be altered to protect the privacy and safety of those involved.

  • All traditions are welcome. We recognize that ACSA can occur in any religious or spiritual setting. RVC holds space for people from many traditions, or no tradition at all.

  • We are committed to maintaining a respectful, trauma-informed environment.

  • The stories shared here are not intended to replace professional counseling, legal support, or crisis services.

  • By participating—whether by reading or writing—you agree to engage with empathy, protect the dignity of survivors, and help cultivate a space rooted in safety, support, and truth-telling
