Marie’s goal is to contribute to the widespread effort among survivors and advocates to educate people about the prevalence of abuse and foster greater accountability on the part of institutional leaders and make churches safer spaces.

This is a great time to connect with other members, share and hear stories, ask questions, or just sit in the presence of safe people whose wounds resemble your own.

ACSA Survivors meet virtually to share, listen, learn from and support one another.

Connie A Baker MA LPC has a Master of Arts in Counseling degree and is a Licensed Professional Counselor and practices in Portland, Oregon. In addition to her private practice, she has been a counseling instructor at a local university, a seminar teacher, conference speaker, clinical supervisor, writer, trauma recovery specialist, trained life coach and is the author of Traumatized by Religious Abuse: Courage, Hope and Freedom for Survivors.

Connie will share some ideas on finding a trauma-informed therapist and discuss the connection between religious trauma and brain healing .
